You can heal from the trauma of childhood cancer.

Hope.

Hope.Cope.Heal. is committed to helping you find the resources you need to find hope amidst the trauma of childhood cancer. Finding a therapist or a support group - your tribe - to plug into is the first step in the healing journey. You don’t have to be afraid to hope. And you don’t have to feel alone if you are losing hope. If you are here, you still have a little bit of hope that you can find a way to better carry the weight of your worries.

Cope.

To COPE is to find a way to survive the adversity and trauma. Hope.Cope.Heal. believes that you have the internal skills to find a way to cope during and after childhood cancer. You don’t have to rely on negative coping skills to numb or avoid the pain. With therapy, you can find the support to build helpful coping skills that can help you build resilience day-to-day.

Heal.

Healing is a journey, not a destination. It a process of allowing yourself to grieve all the losses you experienced and continue to experience long after the “battle” is over. Anxiety, depression, grief and PTSD are the personal side effects experienced by the parents, the child with cancer and/or the siblings. Relationships don’t have to continue to suffer or struggle as a secondary loss to cancer. Therapy and support groups can help your family begin to heal.

Holiday Meals DFW

This program is on a mission to provide warm meals to pediatric cancer families who are inpatient.  In 2019, when the founder’s child was diagnosed with cancer on the Friday after Thanksgiving, it was hard to come by a meal near the hospital without having to leave their child’s side. A meal is more than just physical nourishment—it also nourishes the soul. A simple meal reminds these precious Gold families that they are not alone, that people are remembering them even on a holiday when they cannot be at home celebrating traditions.

We deliver meals to the four local Pediatric Oncology - Hematology hospitals in DFW: Children’s Hospital of Dallas & Plano, Cook Childrens of Fort Worth and Children’s Medical City of Dallas.

We deliver on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve.

About Hope.Cope.Heal.

The founder, Adriana Lewin, is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. In 2019, her child was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) on Thanksgiving Day. After struggling to find a therapist knowledgeable in the nuances of childhood cancer, she decided to start a podcast and blog about mental health issues as a pediatric cancer caregiver through the perspective of a mental health clinician. Being a part of the community, she knew that she wanted to support other families find hope while learning to cope through the “new normal” at the various stages of cancer treatment, with the goal of helping them find healing “after” a cancer diagnosis.

Since 2020, Adriana has been networking with other clinicians in the goal to reach all 50 states with referrals to clinicians ready to support Gold families.

After her child’s diagnosis, she returned to the practice of therapy and currently helps families faced with cancer find healing and provides consultations to clinicians wanting additional support.

Nobody fights alone.

PS. Her child is surviving and thriving!
